Abstract

Deaths occurring due to insect bites are very uncommon, amongst which the rarely reported ones are the Bee sting deaths. However on one such occurrence death had taken place. In such an incident, death could be caused due to an anaphylactic shock, suffocation or due to the worsening of a pre-existing disease. Deaths due to a massive envenomation have especially been noted among individuals stung by the so-called Africanized Honeybees, which always attack in a swarm. We report a case of a fatal anaphylactic reaction subsequent to multiple bee stings, resulting in a massive envenomation. This is amongst few such cases which were ever reported in Forensic literature from the Asian Sub continent.
