N2 - Model plays a major role in understanding the system behavior and design of controllers in both online and offline. If the system is complex, it requires good understanding of the system parameters to model it. First principle method of modeling is quite often used to model the system with less complexity and with acceptable model mismatch. In this paper, it is aimed to develop a graphical user interface (GUI) to model and control an interacting level control tank system. Matlab Guide toolbox is used to develop the user interface. A real time interacting level control system with Honeywell HC900 controller is used in this work. The developed GUI will communicate with the controller using Modbus TCP communication protocol to access the real time data through Matlab in SCADA mode. First principle model method is implemented in Matlab and results are validated with real time data and found to be fairly matching.
