Abstract

An Ultra Wide Band (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) including defected ground structure (DGS) has been developed in this work. Two different simulations have been utilized to design the required filter. Simulation results of software on filter performance have been compared to come into a conclusion. Return loss exceeds 10 dB and the insertion loss falls less than 1.3 dB everywhere in between 3.04 and 10.6 GHz. This filter can find applications in indoor and outdoor communications for the use of radar technology, remote sensing, cancer detection, patient monitoring system, etc.
