Abstract

A simple, precise and rapid RP-HPLC method was developed for the determination of etoricoxib in pharmaceutical dosage forms. The quantification was carried out using a Phenomenex RP-C18 column in isocratic mode, with mobile phase consisting of methanol and water (70:30). The mobile phase was pumped at a flow rate 1.0 mL/min and the detection was carried out at 238nm and the linearity was found to be 10-50 mcg/mL. The LOD and LOQ were found to be 200 ng/ml and 600 ng/ml respectively. The proposed method was found to be simple, precise, accurate, rapid and reproducible for the estimation of etoricoxib in bulk drug and tablets. The intra-day and inter-day precision were in the range of 0.50 to 0.71 and 0.42 to 0.93 respectively.
