Abstract
Nanocomposites, which consist of nanoscale materials incorporated into a matrix, have emerged as very promising alternatives for an array of biological applications, owing to their distinctive features. This chapter presents an inclusive summary of the various kinds of nanocomposites used in the biomedical field, emphasizing their compositions, functional characteristics, and possible uses. The selection of materials and their intended biological use determine the unique benefits and challenges associated with each type of nanocomposite. In the field of biomedicine, the development and production of nanocomposites offer enormous prospective for improving the efficacy, accuracy, and safety of medical treatments. Additionally, these nanocomposites allow for the creation of new features that cannot be achieved with traditional materials. The choice of appropriate components for the synthesis of nanocomposites is determined by the unique needs of the intended biological use. Nanocomposites are utilized to fabricate advanced drug delivery systems, which would not only enhance drug efficacy, but also ensure the safety of medicines. Nanocomposites have numerous applications ranging from tissue engineering, cancer therapy, regenerative medicine, medical implants to biosensors. The development of advanced nanocomposites holds significant promise for enhancing patient care and advancing medical technologies.
