    Abstract

CdxZn1-xO (x = 0.00, 0.10 and 0.20) thin films were deposited on glass substrate by the chemical spray pyrolysis technique. The precursor solutions were obtained by varying the concentration of zinc acetate and cadmium acetate in double distilled water. Substrate temperature was fixed at 723K. The structure, surface morphology and optical properties of deposited films were studied using X-ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscope and UV-Visible spectrophotometer. All the films were polycrystalline in nature. The energy band gap of the films was decreased with increase in cadmium content. The influence of cadmium concentration in the films on the structure and optical properties were studied in this study.
