Abstract

Various glucocorticoid preparations are used in atopic dermatitis to reduce inflammation. Halobetasol propionate is one such steroid used in atopic dermatitis. There is always a need for better antiflammatory drugs for conditions like atopic dermatitis. A newer formulation is biopolymer based halobetasol propionate .This study was done to compare the efficacy of halobetasol propionate with biopolymer with halobetasol propionate (Halovate) in croton oil ear edema model. In this model, the animals treated with halobetasol propionate with biopolymer showed a significant decrease in inflammation as compared to halobetasol propionate (Halovate).
