N2 - The ethical issues involved in research or publications are not routinely taught in MBBS curriculum. This results in deficiencies in the knowledge. Present study was attempted to see whether a workshop on ethical issues related to publications increase awareness amongst MBBS students related to ethical issues in publications. Study was conducted on MBBS students who have presented research papers in any conference. Total of 20 students attended the workshop. Before conducting the workshop, the MBBS students were given a pre-test to test their knowledge in publication ethics. Later through the workshop they were sensitized regarding publication ethics. This was followed by the same post test. Pre and post test scores were compared using paired T test. Improvement in the post test scores were noted in all participants. Post test score were more than pre test scores for all questions (P<0.05). There is a definite increase in awareness in ethical issues in publication after the conduct of workshop.
