Abstract
This case illustrates that serum ferritin level is markedly elevated in patients with autoimmune haemolytic anaemia. A 48 year old male with a history of spleenectomy done 16 years back, presented with complaints of fever, cough with expectoration and pain abdomen. Laboratory investigation demonstrated highly elevated level of serum ferritin of 10100 units.
