Abstract
This paper evaluates the employee perceptions towards the influence of knowledge management (KM) enabler strategies on KM effectiveness, and innovative ability in Indian manufacturing firms. The research is undertaken keeping in mind, the ‘Make in India’ call by the Indian Government to boost the manufacturing sector. The study starts with a literature discussion leading to development of a conceptual model using interpretive structural modelling (ISM) technique. Research hypotheses are formulated, responses are collected from the employees from 32 manufacturing firms and are analysed. The findings reveal the existent issues in the implementation. It highlights the presence of a vast preach-practice gap in the manufacturing sector. This research would enable the practitioners to understand the lacunae in the development of sustainable innovation strategies by leveraging KM at their workplace.
