Epilepsy and Indian law - An overview

Abstract

Epilepsy is the second most common chronic neurological condition seen by neurologists. Although seizures usually last for only a few seconds, agony is lifelong. Much more than the seizures itself, it is the socio-economic and psychological factors that negatively impact the quality of life. Though it is a common medical problem the legal implications of epilepsy is not well understood by many. This article highlights on various social and legal aspects related to epilepsy in India.
