Esthetic rehabilitation of a disfigured tooth using an interdisciplinary approach

To fabricate a proportional smile is an extremely challenging effort for an aesthetic dentist. This challenge becomes even more perplexing when it gets complicated by disease involving the periodontal and periapical zone. This case report highlights a satisfactorily acceptable management of a case in which a malaligned maxillary central incisor complicated with a resorptive defect was treated effectively through wellorganized team diagnosis and treatment planning, comprising of endodontic therapy, followed by periodontal regenerative treatment using bone graft and allograft barrier membranes to enhance its restorative ability. The final restoration was obtained by a fixed prosthesis using pink colored porcelain, which resolved the malalignment and esthetic concerns of the patient. This multidisciplinary approach provided patient benefit from the periodontal, restorative and prosthetic foundation that consistently produced optimal results for two years.
