Abstract
In this paper corroded Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) beams were tested in lab to evaluate flexural behaviour of beams. Accelerated corrosion technique was adopted to corrode the beams up to 10% experimentally. Corrosion was measured using Applied Corrosion Monitoring (ACM) instrument. It is observed that PPC beams were more corrosion-resistant than OPC beams. As rate of corrosion increases, the deflection also increases but load carrying capacities of the beams were reduced, for both OPC and PPC beams. It is concluded that the stiffness of the beams is reduced nonlinearly when rate of corrosion is increased.
