Abstract

A rare case of extranasopharyngeal juvenile angiofibroma of right maxillary sinus manifesting as a facial swelling without much spontaneous epistaxis and treated primarily by surgery is presented. The probable reason of its occurrence in this sinus is the unequal development of skull bones coupled with sex and age of puberty at which time the hormonal activity is at its maximum. The various factors responsible for the recurrence of this tumor have been discussed with a review of recent literature on the subject.
