Abstract

The present paper describes the results obtained and the conclusions drawn from strength and hardness tests conducted on chilled Aluminum-Borosilicate glass particulate composite with dispersoid content ranging from 3 to 12 wt. % in steps of 3%. The composites were cast in moulds at room temperature with the incorporation of metallic (copper and Steel) and non-metallic (Graphite and Silicon carbide) chills. The investigation into the strength and hardness for different chilling rate and dispersoid content was made.
