Abstract

The role of fine needle aspiration cytology of the testes in the evaluation of male infertility was studied. Two cytological indices - Spermatic index and Sertoli index were used to classify the patients into various groups. The histopathological studies also showed accurate cytohistological correlation in these patients. Thus fine needle aspiration cytology of the testes could be used as a minimally, invasive alternative to the more invasive testicular biopsy to evaluate male infertility.
