Abstract

The effect of ruthenium (Ru) doping in SmFe1-xRu xAsO (x = 0.0-0.50) compound is studied here. The samples synthesized are mostly phase pure and not contaminated with various FeAs phases. It is found that with increasing Ru concentration x, the system turns from weak ferromagnetic (spin density wave (SDW)) to ferromagnetic state at x = 0.20-0.30 without any sign of superconductivity.
