Abstract
Presence of genital mutilation always raises a suspicion of assault unless proved otherwise. In such cases, genital self-mutilation that is not an unknown entity in forensic literature needs to be ruled out. We encountered a case wherein a middle aged male was found dead in a well with evidence of genital trauma. There were allegations of assault but a careful autopsy and meticulous death scene investigation proved it to be a case of genital self-mutilation followed by suicidal drowning. The case is rare, for it reports selfinflicted scrotal injures for the very first time.
