N2 - This study reports, a rapid and low cost production of silver nanoparticles from AgNO3 using the aqueous extract of Thunbergia grandiflora flowers and their catalytic degradation of Congo red (CR) dye. UV-Visible spectrum displayed a characteristic peak at 430 nm. SEM analysis showed spherical nanoparticles. EDX spectrum displayed silver peak at 3.1 keV. XRD analysis showed a peak at 38.31°. FTIR analysis confirmed the specific functional groups which involved in the synthesis and stabilization of nanoparticles. A zeta potential value of -24.5 mV implied the negative surface charges. The nanoparticles displayed excellent catalytic effectiveness in the reduction of CR dye.
