    Abstract

Green techniques have evolved over the years in the field of synthetic organic chemistry, chemical biology and medicinal chemistry. Their impact on these diverse subjects have laid a strong foundation as their advantages reflect more than the intent for which they were first developed or introduced. Pharmaceutical innovations mainly deal with the advancements and breakthroughs in developing newer strategies and bringing out greater outcomes than persisting at present. Sustainability is the major concern for the medicinal chemists, those who work on furnishing potent drug molecules and green techniques stretch them a helping hand in reducing their efforts with the harmful effects of the solvents and other chemicals used in bulk scale. Thus, this chapter deals with the new synthetic protocols developed for producing molecules of medicinal value both in small as well as large scale. The importance and advantages can be drawn as the chapter progresses eventually.
