Abstract

Curcumin interacts with glutathione spontaneously and more rapidly in the presence of glutathione S-transferase. The interaction may involve Michael-type addition reaction between the α,β-unsaturated chromophore of curcumin and the nucleophilic glutathione. © 1991.
