Abstract
Death or mortality is an undesired but definitive health outcome for many acute and chronic illnesses as well as for nonnatural causes such as injuries and poisoning. An analysis and scrutiny of mortality details gives a look at the health status and general and specific health trends of a population. The most important use of mortality data is to compare death rates between populations or groups at different periods. The study of mortality thus has an essential role in understanding details of mortality and devising preventive strategies. These are considered as an integral part of planning public health intervention for any disease, communicable and noncommunicable.
