Abstract
Suicide represents a major public health problem. Human suicidal behavior has always been a source of dread and wonder to mankind. Various means have been adopted by different persons for suicide and parasuicide. Methods of suicide employed generally reflect the availability of methods in the community. Different workers have studied the methods of suicide and parasuicide in their respective workplaces. Many studies have been conducted on the changing trends of suicide and the present picture has been compared with the past. A global scenario of the methods of suicide and changing trends is presented.
