Abstract

The application of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in Automobiles makes the system complex, while trying to meet the stringent Emission norms, especially in mobile heavy-duty diesel applications. As EURO VI emission standards are on the line, these strict specifications and the dynamic behavior of automobiles demands advanced control system design. Such a control system design requires a model based control approach. In this paper, we incorporates a model-based Feed-Forward controller (FFC) which handles the known dynamics of the plant along with a Feed-Back controller (FBC) to mitigate the effects caused by disturbances and slowly varying parameters.
