Abstract

In this paper, a micro-ring resonator for bio-sensing application is designed. The micro-ring resonator is designed with a single ring waveguide and two bus waveguides. The light traverse through the drop port of bus waveguide and couples to the ring waveguide is observed for various refractive indices. The analysis of the design with various refractive indices is performed by varying the covering medium on the top surface of the waveguide structure. The resonance parameters like free spectral range, transmission spectrum and resonance shifts are observed in the modeling of the micro-ring resonator.
