Abstract
Phototherapy offers targeted, minimally invasive treatment for glioblastoma (GBM) with reduced systemic toxicity. Intranasal delivery bypasses the blood-brain barrier (BBB) but requires improved tumor targeting and synchronized light activation. Recent advancements in nanotechnology and smart photosensitizers have improved the selectivity and efficacy of PDT and PTT. Key challenges for GBM phototherapy include light penetration and drug retention. The future of GBM treatment may rely on combining phototherapy with personalized methods and collaborative research.
