Abstract

The paper proposes viscosity measurement techniques using non-contact sensors. Multi-sensor data fusion algorithm is used to combine the output of multiple sensors to enhance the measurement characteristics. Optical and ultrasonic sensors are used for computing the viscosity of liquid. Output of ultrasonic sensor in-terms of voltage and current output of photo transistor is first subjected to common representation format to achieve output between 0 to 100%. Data association and decision making stages are formed using the distributed block diagram framework. Once trained, the designed measurement technique is tested with real life data and results shows accurate measurement of viscosity.
