Abstract

Results of the investigations carried out on the optical properties of silver nanoparticulate films deposited on softened polystyrene (PS) doped with 3-Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTMS) are reported. Optical absorption studies show two plasmon resonance maxima for silver deposited on MPTMS doped PS substrates indicating a change in morphology of the silver nanoparticles due to MPTMS doping as compared to silver films on PS substrates.
