Abstract
This paper presents an optimal assignment of charging station to individual electric vehicle in a predefined geographical region. Cost-function for optimization is constructed based on total travel time which includes charging as well as queuing time at charging stations and recharging cost depending on price of electricity. The present SoC of battery in the electric vehicle is also considered so as to ensure that each vehicle is able to reach charging station assigned to it.
