Abstract

Functional endoscopic sinus surgery has revolutionized the treatment of sinus disorders. Orbital complications can be encountered despite the use of endoscopes, which offer brilliant illumination and precise surgery, because of the close relationship of the orbit to the ethmoids. Commonly encountered orbital complications and the reasons for their development are discussed.
