Abstract

Perceptual disorders are seen in various neurological conditions and are poorly understood. These disturbances are considered to be one of the determining factors for rehabilitation outcomes. This chapter discusses perception, its pathophysiology, and its various types such as body scheme disorders, visual discrimination skills, agnosia, and apraxia. It highlights detailed evaluation inclusive of objective evaluation tools and distinctive treatment approaches for each type of perceptual disturbance.
