N2 - A hybrid wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) passive optical network (PON) incorporating high speed free space optical (FSO) communication i.e. WDM-FSO PON using OOK modulation, is analyzed for the impact of interchannel crosstalk affected by the atmospheric turbulence. The WDM channels are affected by crosstalk whereas the FSO performance is degraded by scintillation caused due to atmospheric turbulence. This work considers gamma-gamma probability distribution function (pdf) model for atmospheric turbulence. Different noises like thermal noise, shot noise and amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise are considered while analyzing the system. The demultiplexer adjacent channel rejection is also considered while including the crosstalk interferer to the system. In this paper, average bit error rate is used to evaluate the performance of this system using RZ OOK modulation format and in presence of single crosstalk interfere.
