Abstract

A super structured fiber Bragg grating (SSFBG) based optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) system performance is evaluated. The SSFBG is assumed to be used at the receiver end as a matched filter to correlate the received optical signal with the desired user's spreading sequence. The performance is evaluated under the assumption that Gold sequences of length 127 are used as spreading sequences and considering that the multiple access interference (MAI) is the sole performance degrading agent. Suitable comparison between the performance evaluated using the accurate model and a Gaussian approximation is as well included.
