Abstract
In present study Dy3+ doped 10Sb2O3–20Na2O–70B2O3 glasses of different concentration were synthesised by melt quenching protocol. The prepared glasses were subjected to the absorption and photoluminescence characterization. The absorption transitions related oscillator strengths have been utilized in the formulation of JO parameters. The bonding parameters along with lasing potential of the glasses were tabulated using JO parameters. Further, excitation and emission spectra of the glass exhibited the characteristic lines of the Dy3+ ion and its intensity varied with the doping concentration. The Y/B ratio of the glass was determined using emission spectra of the glass. The results suggest 1 mol% of Dy3+ doped glasses are useful for continuous yellow laser applications.
