Photonic Crystal Cavity Optimization Using AI

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

    Abstract

In this manuscript, photonic crystal cavity optimization using artificial intelligence has been done. The proposed structure is very simple and has high sensitivity. Porosity in the layers has been intentionally added for ease of analyte infiltrate, which will increase the sensitivity of the crystal but reduces the strength of the transmitted signal. The structure is designed considering alternate layers of high and low refractive index material. For this, SiO2 and MgF2 materials are considered. The mean error is minimized by considering optimum value of 'k' as 4. Different algorithms were checked on the dataset and finally the kNN algorithm has been applied on the dataset and F1-score of about 0.97 is obtained.
