Abstract

The objective of the present study is to understand the behavior of a normal shock wave, generated using a shock tube, traveling on a double concave ramp with a radius of curvature of 50 mm for different shock wave Mach numbers. An inviscid numerical simulation was carried out using Ansys Fluent to investigate the characteristics of the shockwave and the nature of the flow behind it. The unsteady shock behavior and flow characteristics were found to depend on the geometry and the shock wave Mach number.
