Abstract
Iron deficiency anemia is very common. The Plummer Vinson Syndrome, the precursor of postcricoid cancer, is not that common. Postcricoid cancer is not confined to women only. By the time the patient seeks the advice of a specialist the lesion is often far advanced. The reasons for this are discussed. Any dysphagia not responding to the usual therapy in a week or two, calls for a thorough examination. It can occur even at a very early age (10 yr) and a similar case in this series is probably the second of its kind reported in the literature.
