Abstract

Fatigue is commonly experienced by people diagnosed with cancer. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship of cancer-related fatigue with age, stage of the disease and the hemoglobin levels. This study was done among women diagnosed with breast cancer undergoing radiation therapy in India. The data were collected when the women (160) got admitted for radiation therapy. The results show that age of the patients contributed to 2.2% of the variation in cancer-related fatigue. Stage of the cancer and hemoglobin levels of women contributed 6.6% additional variation in cancer-related fatigue. Women who have undergone modified radical mastectomy and women with hemoglobin levels less than 12 g/dL had more fatigue.
