Abstract

In the last two decades, owing to the widespread utilization of polymers across diverse fields, there has been a surge in extensive research focused on polymer nano-composites to expand their properties. The incorporation of nanomaterials as reinforcements in polymers has demonstrated remarkable enhancements in performance compared to pure polymers. Among the various polymers, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) stands out as a widely employed polymer in the industrial sector, catering to a multitude of applications. Consequently, to render HDPE more feasible for recent applications, it has been reinforced with other materials. One such extensively utilized reinforcing material to enhance the properties of HDPE is multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT). The current review provides an in-depth study of the diverse preparation techniques employed for the synthesis of MWCNT-reinforced HDPE nano-composites. Additionally, it highlights the different characterization techniques employed for the analysis of MWCNT-reinforced HDPE nano-composites.
