Abstract

The profound impact of Information Technology (IT) on economic development of any sector is undeniable and transformative, writing is clear on the wall, that IT is directly proportional to improving productivity, streamlines the operations and fosters innovation. Medical tourism takes care of "sick" individuals and opting for both elective and emergency medical procedures, whereas at the other end of spectrum Wellness tourism caters to individuals who are healthy and looking for proactively improving their lifestyle. In recent past, many travelers' information leaks were reported world-wide. Between 2014-2018, Mariott International had been breached and 500 million customers data has been accessed, personal information of 57 million users of Uber travel aggregator and 600,000 drivers data has been accessed and taken, in 2022, Medibank internal data systems were breached by dark web. Destination Medical Tourism operators deal with lots of patient data. Digital Marketing campaigns capture the customer base of the medical aesthetic industry. Business goes on as per destination country regulatory norms.
