Abstract
Serum phenytoin levels were measured in grand mal epilepsy patients receiving diphenyl hydantoin. The drug levels were correlated with various biochemical parametres. A linear relationship between the levels of diphenyl hydantoin and creatinine was observed. This positive correlation coefficient was found to be statistically signifficant. This correlation may be related to a positive Jaffe's reaction seen with the chromogen diphenyl hydantoin.
