Replacement of Fine Aggregate with Imperial Smelting Furnace Slag for Manufacture of Ecofriendly Concrete

Research output: Contribution to journalConference articlepeer-review

Abstract

Rajasthan is a state which produces maximum amount of mining waste in India. Imperial smelting furnace slag is one of the hazardous wastes which is produced in massive quantities in India. Stockpiling of Imperial smelting furnace slag (ISF SLAG) is one of the major environmental concerns in India. The properties of Imperial smelting furnace slag are very similar to fine aggregate used in concrete. This research work of aims in substitution of ISF slag with fine aggregate up to 25% in concrete. The experimental results suggest that the mechanical properties and average and cement of 11.88%. The bacterial solution enhances the mechanical property by 3.33 %. However, and enormous environmental benefit is achieved in terms of reduction of greenhouse gas emission and particulate emission by 36% and 43% respectively.
