Abstract
100 women exposed to domestic smoke from cooking fuel from an early age, working in poorly ventilated kitchen, presented with various respiratory diseases. Exposure was high in older age groups. COPD, cor pulmonale and bronchiectasis were more in older age groups, whereas pulmonary tuberculosis and bronchial asthma were common in younger age groups. Cor pulmonale was associated most with COPD.
