Abstract

This paper introduces a robust controller synthesis for the pitch dynamical model of a satellite, employing negative-imaginary systems theory. The control-relevant model of the satellite's pitch attitude system with negative-imaginary properties is formulated. Subsequently, a controller with strictly negative-imaginary properties is computed to ensure robust stability and notable performance in the presence of uncertainty and external disturbances within the positive feedback control loop. The simulation results presented in the paper demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the robust control method in managing the satellite's pitch attitude system.
