N2 - Electrical Vehicle (EV) is a prominent solution of fuel crises and environmental pollution for global transportation sector. But EVs are also facing several challenges; one of them is pertaining to the insulation coordination of high voltage cable. Currently, the voltages of the power supply and the battery in heavy electric vehicle are far higher than the level that people can endure. Further, due to battery heating and heat produced by other electrical components in EV, temperature of the overall electrical system in EV increases and it causes serious concerns for safety issues mainly for the insulation property of the cable. Therefore appropriate consideration of temperature effect in the insulation design of EV cable is paramount. Conductivity (σ) of cable insulation is known to be a very strong and highly nonlinear function of electric field and the temperature.
