Abstract

In present era, any erudite individual makes use of search engines to access information. It is vital for search engines to provide information which is indeed helpful for the seeker. It is not necessary that documents ranked by the search engine is accurate just because the words in the documents matches with the terms in the query. The results retrieved by the information retrieval engine is said to be precise and relevant if it is in context of the need of information seeker. Often, a user who is querying the search engine, might query a couple of more times on the same matter/subject over a particular period of time frequently. Generally, the focus of the queries issued to a search engine by a specific user remains consistent over couple of more queries issued during a time interval. If a query issued by a user in the first place has provided relevant or satisfactory results to the user, then his second query (from the same domain/context) issued in a short duration and which consists of certain terms which are present in multiple domains should not outcome in a wrong search result. Hence, this work is performed to provide a solution to improve the search result by the information retrieval engines when a user issues multiple queries in the same domain within a particular interval of time but the terms in his query belongs to multiple context or domain.
