Abstract
Secure communication methods are essential to protecting multimedia data transferred over hospital networks in the age of the Internet of Medical Things' (IoMT) explosive growth. This study addressesthe particular difficulties presented by diverse medical devices and resource-constrained situations by examining the crucial role that these procedures play in maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability. We examine the use of lightweight encryption and authentication techniques adapted to IoMT restrictions and offer a thorough study of protocol stacks, including MQTT, TCP, IEEE 802.15.4, and 6LoWPAN. The study also explores AI-enabled and certificate-based security frameworks,emphasizing new developments like dynamic cryptographic algorithms and blockchain integration. Examples of real-world applications meant to reduce hazards include the ASCP-IoMT protocol and cross-layer communication techniques connected to cyberattacks, illegal access, and data breaches. Our findings highlight the significance of upholding regulatory compliance while improving system resilience, real-time monitoring, and patient data protection by conforming with regulatory obligations such as GDPR and HIPAA. In addition to outlining present issues including interoperability, scalability, and integration complexity, this study suggests future lines of inquiry that could strengthen secure communication infrastructures in the rapidly changing IoMT environment.
