    Abstract

IoT offers significant benefits in health monitoring, which leads to a healthy life. Some of the health monitoring applications include remote patient monitoring and timely interventions, but there are several security concerns related to IoT. Safeguarding sensitive healthcare data and ensuring the integrity of connected devices are critical considerations. Similar to IoT, wireless sensor networks (WSN) also play a very important role in health monitoring applications, providing real-time data collection and communication capabilities. Some of the security concerns associated with IoT in health monitoring are data privacy and confidentiality, unauthorized access, device security, network security, authentication and authorization, and supply chain security. The issues which need to be addressed with WSN for secure health monitoring are node security, energy efficiency and conservation, localization security, and authentication and authorization. This chapter provides a study of security issues in IoT and WSN in health monitoring applications.
