Abstract
Serum cholesterol, triglycerides and lipoprotein have been fractionated by agarose gel electrophoresis of the sera of 60 healthy controls and 50 patients who had had an attack of myocardial infarction. The results confirm the earlier reports that Indians show coronary heart disease at lower levels of serum lipids. However, the presence of hyperlipoproteinemia in all these patients is also indicated, and the cases have been phenotyped according to the classification of hyperlipoproteinemia by Fredrickson et al.
