    Abstract

Smart cities apply information technologies such as internet of things, cloud computing, big data and other relevant ICT concepts in integrating and developing the city by contributing to planning, developing and other life improvement things. Technology has been constantly playing a major role in enhancing one’s lifestyle of late. The quality of technology applications has been instrumental in impacting peoples’ day to day life undoubtedly. This paper deals with the building of a causal loop diagram considering the factors that may affect the smart cities concept from the perspective of information management. Using system dynamics methodology, a causal loop diagram id developed which can later be used for simulations using the formulation of mathematical relationships amongst the parameters.
